As we celebrate the outpour of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles, which is the fulfillment of Christ promise to the church. This day marks the beginning of the Apostolic Age, the apostles spoke in tongues, conquered fear and preached the gospel to all nations.
When you strip it of everything else, Pentecost stands for power and life. That’s what came into the church when the Holy Spirit came down on the day of Pentecost.” “Wisdom is knowing the right thing to do and doing it at the right time to get the desired result.
The Holy Spirit comes in three major forms;
- It comes in form of a Dove (Mt.3:16) that appeared during Christ’s baptism , and a voice was heard from heaven “this is my beloved son, listen to him” .
- The Holy Spirit comes in form of FIRE (Acts 2,3) A fire that gives illumination and dispels darkness, fear and all dangers. Fire that purifies , gives courage and strength to men.
- The Holy Spirit comes in form of a Wind. At creation, God breathed into Adam thereby giving him life, that breath was God’s Spirit (soul) breathed into Adam, without breath/air there will be no life, which implies that the Holy Spirit is the source of our lives, without the Holy Spirit, we cannot be alive.
Therefore , the Holy Spirit gives life, spiritual gifts, charisms and fruits to enable us bear charismatic and prophetic witness of Christ as our Divine Network Provider to the entire world.
So, as we celebrate the Pentecost, we are encouraged to re-establish a stronger relationship with the Holy Spirit by abiding to His inspirations and prompting us to be truthful and fruitful in our daily christian lives and encounter in order to reap the fruits and benefits of the Holy Spirit.
A Christian who did not value Pentecost is like someone who forgot his or her place of birth
