WITH GROWTH COMES ADVERSITY

Adversity is like a strong wind

I don’t mean just that it holds us back from places we might otherwise go

It also tears away from us all but the things that cannot be torn

So that afterward we see ourselves as we really are

Not merely as we might like to be

Look not mournfully into the past, it comes not back again

Wisely improve the present, it is thine.

Go forth to meet the shadowy future without fear and with a manly heart

Little minds are tamed and subdued by misfortune, but great minds rise above them

The beauty of the soul shines out when a man bears with composure one heavy mischance after another, not because he does not feel them, but because he is a man of high and heroic temper._Aristotle
