ASPIRE BEFORE YOU EXPIRE (purpose is more important to God than the plans you have in the heart)

Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom because where there is purpose, abuse becomes the way of life. But you must understand that the journey is the journey within. Too many of us are not living our dreams but our fears, It takes great courage to faithfully follow what we know to be true. Our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.

The Church is full of people who are anxious to hear from God but hearing God and following through on what He says are two different things. We often pray for God to speak and lead us into the life He has designed for us before we are willing to take those steps forward when He gives the word.

Many of us truly believe God has good plans and purposes for our lives. But how do we discern His purpose? How do we know if where we’re headed is out of selfish ambition, or Kingdom calling? And when we do see the vision He has for our lives, how do we get started? Stepping into God’s calling for your life is quite a journey, and it all starts with discovering God right where you are. The biggest reason you can’t discover who you are until you know God is because knowing Him will change you. Before you can begin to understand who you are, you must have a revelation of who God is.

The biggest reason you can’t discover who you are until you know God is because knowing Him will change you. When you allow the Holy Spirit to dwell in you, you will be transformed and restored growing closer to the original reflection of God you were created to be. You are the only one who is qualified to do what God created you for, but without Christ, you lose your qualifications.

When you discover whom you are (Get Started): Once you sense God leading you into a specific purpose, you need to learn to move in the Holy Spirit to carry out that purpose in the everyday. Give me a stock clerk with a goal, and I will give you a man who will make history. Give me a man without a goal, and I will give you a stock clerk, The world has the habit of making room for the man whose actions show that he knows where he is going. When a person begins to walk into their calling, you can expect spiritual warfare. If you were hoping for a life of ease, you will be disappointed.

In choosing to live a life of purpose, you won’t be spared from hardship but you will learn to rise above it. It’s so much better to conquer your fear than it is to run away from the hard situation. But don’t worry it isn’t all bad! There are hard times, but there is also a deep sense of satisfaction and fulfillment, paired with a burning desire to move forward and know even more of God and His plan. But don’t let all this keep you from getting started. As you face challenges, equip yourself with resources and surround yourself with godly people who are also following God’s call. Along the way, you’ll need a few things. You need mentors to guide you, offer advice and let you know if your direction is sound and seems to be in line with God’s plans. You need peers for the journey to keep you grounded and remind you that you aren’t alone. And, you need “mentees” (for lack of a better word), or people you can reach out to who aren’t as far along as you. It’s important to build the next generation, and we should hope to bring them even further than we are.

  1. Wonderful post with great advice for those who want to have a closer walk with the Lord! A lot of times our hopes and dreams fizzle out because that is not the purpose God has proposed for us. This life is not all about us,it is about the one who died to give us an abundant life in Him. The world looses sight of this while those who walk in the spirit are guided and directed into the very reason they exist! I am always INSPIRED after reading your writing. Be Blessed in your walk with Him,no matter what comes your way you are never alone.

  2. Amen brother. That last paragraph hit hard. We need mentors to guide as, correcting our course as we may fall into doing our own will rather than God’s at times. And we also need to pass on the message of sharing love to all in this world we live. To show them the way God bids us to live like Jesus. To conquer the tough times by forging through with the strength of good. I see you doing that in every word you write.

Peace to you and your family. ❤
