HOW POSITIVE THINKING WORKS

Positive thinking doesn’t mean, let me enjoy my life and ignore life’s less pleasant situations. Positive thinking just means that you approach unpleasantness in a more positive and productive way. You think the best is going to happen, not the worst.

Healthy, happy people think about what they want, and how to get it, most of the time. In this way developing a positive attitude can truly change your entire life

When you think and talk about what you want and how to get it, you feel happier and in greater control of your life. When you think about something that makes you happy, your brain actually releases endorphins, which give you a generalized feeling of well-being

Positive thinking often starts with self-talk. Self-talk is the endless stream of unspoken thoughts that run through your head. These automatic thoughts can be positive or negative. Some of your self-talk comes from logic and reason. Other self-talk may arise from misconceptions that you create because of lack of information.

If the thoughts that run through your head are mostly negative, your outlook on life is more likely pessimistic. If your thoughts are mostly positive, you’re likely an optimist, someone who practices positive thinking.

Positivity produces more energy, while negativity kills your enthusiasm. Motivation is a positive quality and a wonderful trait to have. It pushes you forward, encourages you, and helps you to overcome obstacles. A positive frame of mind increases your motivation to succeed and get what you want. It will provoke the manifestation of the champions in you and believe you will get what you want. It will also motivate you to achieve more than you ever expected. And here is how.

A scholar with negative thinking knows that exam is coming very soon and refuse to read his or her book. On the day of exam, he will go to anointed man of God to pour anointing oil on his or her head and pray, so that he or she will pass exam. Unfortunately, God is not a magician.
But a positive thinker approaches it differently. He read his or her books and prepared ahead of time and definitely makes it.

Negative thinker has an appointment on a speaking engagement on conference that supposed to boost him as a young growing public speaker and did not equip him-self with information and practices, expecting to do well and get more assignment. Now tell me how!
But a positive thinker approaches the same situation differentially.

Negative thinker applied for a new job, but he didn’t believe he will get it, since his self-esteem was low, and he considered himself as a failure and unworthy of success. He had a negative attitude toward himself, and therefore, believed that the other applicants were better and more qualified than him; his mind was occupied with negative thoughts and fears concerning the job, for the whole week preceding the job interview. He actually, anticipated failure, on the day of the interview, he got up late, and to his horror he discovered that the shirt he planned to wear was dirty, and the other one needed ironing. As it was already too late, he went out wearing a wrinkled shirt and without eating breakfast, during the interview, he was tense, negative, hungry and worried about his shirt. All this, distracted his mind and made it difficult for him to focus on the interview. His overall behaviour made a bad impression, and consequently, he materialized his fear and did not get the job.

Positive thinker applied for the same job too, but approached the matter in a different way. He was sure that he was going to get the job. During the week preceding the interview, he often visualized himself making a good impression and getting the job, In the evening before the interview, he prepared the clothes he was going to wear, and went to sleep a little earlier. On the day of the interview, he woke up earlier than usual, and had ample time to eat breakfast, and then to arrive to the interview before the scheduled time, Positive thinker made a good impression and got the job,
What do we learn from these stories? Was there any magic used? No.

Your attitude and the way you think have much to do with how you feel about yourself. If you adopt a positive attitude and think positively, you will have a better opinion of yourself, which means a sense of self-esteem.

Choose to look at yourself in a positive light. See what is positive and good in you and also act like one. This will automatically increase your self-esteem.

Don’t worry about negative people, and about what they think and say about you. When you have a positive attitude toward yourself, the people around you will have a better opinion of you, and would treat you with more respect.
Loving yourself, being good to your-self; and being happy, are expressions of thinking positively. This attitude would also enhance your self-confidence, your courage, and your inner strength.

Why is all this important

1) Life is full of all types of situations and challenges. Not all of them are good and there will be bad times as sure as there would be night after day. Being negative and allowing the negativity to overpower oneself will only aggravate the situation. Always be positive. It may not be as easy as it sounds but it is not impossible either.
Fill yourselves with positive thoughts and positive actions. Surround yourself with positive vibes and positive people but most important of all, be a positive person yourself. Being positive will not make all the bad things and times to disappear from your life but it will equip you with the right mental tools and attitude to deal with anything that life throws at you.

2) To be your-self is the first step to a successful life. To be yourself means to accept yourself as you are and to be the best that you can be. We all have role models whom we admire and wish to emulate. While it is good to have role models, it is fatal to try and be a carbon copy of one’s role model or any other person. It is fatal for who and what one really can be. The simple fact is that one just cannot be a copy of anyone else so stop trying.
Just accept yourself as you are with all your strengths and flaws and make the best of yourself. Sure, one must try to rectify one’s faults and weaknesses. But the bottom-line is that at the end of it all; strive to be the best possible version of YOU and not a copy of someone else. If you try to be anything but YOU it will be the biggest injustice on yourselves.

3) If you want to be happy, you don’t need anything to be happy other than the wish to be happy. Once this wish is in place you are going to be happy, plain and simple. Your happiness depends on no one but yourself.
So, start by accepting yourself as you are and be yourself. Fill yourself with positivity and be a positive person.

It is also not the job of a city to make you happy. Travelling from city to city, anyways, I don’t discourage moving but I encourage planning. Moving without planning can make a person unhappier than they were before they left. If the move doesn’t work out the person can find him-self alone in a new place feeling like a failure

Personal Responsibility

Taking personal responsibility means not blaming others for your unhappiness. It means figuring out ways in which you can be happy despite others’ (negative) behaviours and despite the external circumstances. A person who has taken personal responsibility recognizes an all-important truth about happiness: your happiness depends much more on your attitude than it does on objective, external circumstances.

When your state of mind is generally optimistic, you’re better able to handle everyday stress in a more constructive way. That ability may contribute to the widely observed health benefits of positive thinking.

  1. Excellent article you posted. This paragraph of yours is so true: “Your attitude and the way you think have much to do with how you feel about yourself. If you adopt a positive attitude and think positively, you will have a better opinion of yourself, which means a sense of self-esteem.”

I so agree, what we think about all the time has a lot to do with our attitude and choices in life. Also, the Bible tells us “that as a man thinks, so is he!” Our thoughts and choices are so very importance as we navigate our journey here on earth. Thanks for sharing.😊👣

  2. Kingsley, very inspirational and informative. We do become what we think. We all can choose how we approach every situation in our lives. We can complain about the problem or look for a solution. Your words speak great wisdom. Thank you for sharing. Take care.

See also Matthew 4:1-11 (Jesus Is Tested in the Wilderness where the devil engaged him with logic) 4 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted[a](B) by the devil.(C) 2 After fasting forty days and forty nights,(D) he was hungry. 3 The tempter(E) came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God,(F) tell these stones to become bread.” 4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’[b]”(G) 5 Then the devil took him to the holy city(H) and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6 “If you are the Son of God,”(I) he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written: “‘He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’[c]”(J)
7 Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’[d]”(K) 8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9 “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.” 10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan!(L) For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’[e]”(M) 11 Then the devil left him,(N) and angels came and attended him

Now, I have a question for you
Have you ever have a sexual urge to go against the will of God and your inner conscience said no it’s not right, and against the will of God?

If you said no it a lie! The moment you are having that thought, it is a logic on the inside of you between positive and negative.

To answer your question. No matter the prayer of 5 years boy, he can never drive a truck. He have to wait until he is 21years and pass through driving school before. It will work for those who pray and those who don’t pray.

And the Government law in glob is that you must be 21 before driving. Besides, everything God created is attached with law and any law you break will break you. The boy May not go to jail because of his age but the case will be filed against him. That how R-Kelly the musician go to jail. It is because of his crime when he was a kid

George Floyd’s murder by a racist white police started a new movement=Blacks Lives Matter, but blacks miss the boat again=all of the wrongs against blacks in America results from The Institution of Slavery, but nobody is advocating and demanding *REPARATION FOR SLAVERY* *&* and this is how R. Kelly and those less fortunate blacks ended up in jails and prisons basically, and those that didn’t are the exception and not the rule=tokenism.

  6. As you say it is very important to remember changing our mindset will not eliminate problems and obstacles from our lives: it will give us the tools to overcome them.

Alongside thinking positively we must remember to be pragmatic, to know some days we will feel less capable. On these days we must remember to breathe, and be ok with being not ok.

    Keep on keeping on. Peace.
